Many personality test show that I'm a thinker by nature. Professionally, I have been an analyst for the last 7 years...which I'm pretty good at. I have come to learn that the traits that contribute to my personality and professional prowess is also prevalent in my personal life.
What I do as an analyst is inventory data sources, mine the data, find ways to correlate different data, flip the correlations as many ways as possible, the draw my assumption. At that point, I have to validate my assumption by either comparing it to historical trends and result or forecasting the future to see how it plays out. This process is exactly what I do when situations come up. I take the opportunity to review the situation and all things associated with it. I try to find common links within events around the situation. I try to look at the situation and/or events from different ways and perspectives. Once I feel I have enough to reflect on, I draw my assumption of the situation. Now it's time to reflect on past experiences that are similar or wait patiently to see if my assumptions are validated. This is all internal before I ever speak on the situation. This is pretty much how my mind works.
The thing about me to understand from this is I THINK 4x as much as I SPEAK...and I'm very patient in the process of discovery to validation. So never assume that there are things I don't know or don't pick up on just because I don't say anything in that moment.
